MBC's "Deliberately Different" Weekends

Please note that our usual 10:00 am Sunday service with Café Church will not be happening on July 5th.

As an experiment for six months, we're making some changes on the first weekend of each month. What will this look like? There'll be a number of events - all worshipping and honouring to God and rooted in our MBC values and purposes, but in Deliberately Different ways. Everyone will be encouraged to contribute and participate in any of them.

Why are we doing this? Because we are working towards the fulfilment of our vision 2012, exploring ways to develop "a network of fresh and diverse expressions of church" and seeking to discover how we might “change the heart of our communities from within”. In the short term it will help ease some of the capacity problems we have but more importantly it will give opportunities for us all to develop skills and gifting that can then be resourced and released to benefit our communities and grow God’s kingdom.

The dates and times for the various expressions are:

  • Specially 4 U Church - Sunday 5th July from 10:30am to 1:00pm in the main church
  • Big Church - Sunday 5th July from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the main church
  • Reflective Church - Sunday 5th July at 7:00pm in the main church
  • Pint of View Church - Monday 6th July from 7:30pm at The Black Horse, Amberley

Fresh Expressions on the move

At MBC we have defined our vision but, if we are honest, most of us don't really have a clear idea of what "a network of fresh expressions" might be. As part of the journey, we have created a travel blog. The first time you visit the site, you'll need to request a password (to stop the site being spammed!).
