Website FAQs

The website has public and private pages. The public pages are those anyone can see without logging-in. They are mainly the sections of the website behind the "About Us" and "Church Life" tabs.

Church members and ministry team members are able to log-in when they visit the site. This will enable you to go behind the "My Area" tab - where you will be able to check rotas and details about your own involvement in church activities. These details can't be seen by the general public, or by other members who are not involved in your areas of church life.

This website is not just a website! Underlying it is some extremely good software that will eventually underpin MBC's administrative functions.

Imagine that you are a member of the Worship Team, you also help out with Sparklets and you belong to a midweek homegroup.
When you log-in to the site with your unique and secure log-in details, the website will give you all the information that is relevant to your involvement in the church. You'll see when you are next rehearsing with the Worship Team, what your homegroup is doing this week and you'll also receive automatic reminders about when you're next involved with Sparklets.

Your homegroup leader will be able to add notes that only members of your homegroup can see and you'll be able to look up church resources on-line.

Off course, this is all dependent on you... information doesn't appear on the website automatically. It depends on you getting involved, using the website, updating information, using it to build your rotas, and so on. There will be a 'learning process' for us all, and no doubt there will be some "teething problems" but hopefully these functions will become easy to use as time goes by.

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about this website...

How do I log-in?
At the moment we are only offering log-in privileges to church members and members of our different ministry teams. If you've not already been issued with a username and password, and are a member of a ministry team, please speak with your ministry team leader.

Is my information safe? What security is in place?
We are careful about how we store information and also what information we store. This is important to make sure that we comply with Data Protection legislation. All of the information relating to this website is stored in a secure location off-site, basically in the electronic equivalent of Fort Knox, so it can't be physically stolen. The security that is used to prevent people 'hacking' the information is the same as that used in banks. We are totally confident that no one will have their information acquired by anyone who shouldn't have access to it.

Will people be able to see my address details online?
When church members log-in, they will be able to see the addresses, email addresses and phone numbers of all the people who are current church members. These details will not be visible to the general public. Individual members, once they are logged-in, can change their own address and contact details, and add a photo if they wish. Members can also change their own settings to prevent other people seeing their online details.
