Why Jesus?

Jesus is at the centre of the Christian faith. But who is he? Is his last name Christ? For many, Jesus Christ is a useful expletive used out of habit without thinking, context or understanding, but Jesus is actually a real person.

For us, a person's name is associated with a genuine special relationship that we hold with them. Their name is more than just words to us. Their name represents their character, personality, shared moments in life, love, laughter, tears and relationship.

For Christians, that is what Jesus is about - relationship! Not some empty religious duty or tradition, but a relationship with God. God, who is revealed as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (also known as the Trinity -  three persons in one), is a God of relationship. The Bible is packed full of the exploration of this God, and his relationship with himself as the Trinity and with us as his creation. God loved the world so much that he demonstrated it by sending Jesus, the Son.

Jesus taught and showed us how to love God and each other. He made it possible to really know God even today; possible to be free from fear, shame and guilt;. possible to live life to the full.

Why Jesus? Why not find out for yourself? Check out the links below and see for yourself if Jesus is as real and relevant as Christians think he is.
